Wednesday 9 October 1996 - Up to Kinematics Definition of Vorticity, Rotation Tensor and Rate-of-Strain Tensor
Wednesday 20 November 1996 - Up to the end of the Vorticity section (PV)
Both exams will be held in class time: 1:25-3:20pm.
While a double class session is available for the exam, it will be designed so that you should only have to spend one hour on it. Material that is eligible to be included on each exam includes anything taught in the formal classes up to and including the Friday immediately prior to the exam. While student presentations will not be used as source material for questions directly, the examples presented in them are relevant to the course, and so can provide the seeds for questions I may construct. You should be able to answer these through recourse to the normal class notes.
Bring nothing but some blank paper and pencils/pens (and a calculator, if you must). NO book bags, loose notes or books/folders. Since we must shift rooms after the first hour, I want the minimum of clutter. It will make the logistics easier all around, so please respect this request.
Presentations originally scheduled for these dates have been moved to the Monday following the exam in normal class times.
METEO 520 Times and locations: Monday and Wednesday classes are at 1:25-2:15 in Room 124 Walker. The Wednesday project class is at 2:30-3:20 in Room 105 Walker. Our normal Friday class time has shifted to a new time (to avoid conflicts with other classes) of 12:20-1:10 in Room 124 Walker (the same room as Monday/Wednesday).
