5:00 PM

PR 7:36 mile :-D

Activity: 5 miles (1.5 mi wu, two 1600m @ 7:57 w/ 800m rest, 1 mi cd)
Distance: 5 miles
Time: 48:51
Average: 9:18
Splits: 9:56 + 4:57, 1600 @ 7:36, 800 @ 5:12, 1600 @ 8:09, 10:36

I guess that I didn't enter this into coolrunning after my run - my mind was oriented on dinner! Anyway, 1600m is just about 1 mile.. I ran the first 1600 too fast and the 2nd a little too slow. I cannot recall ever running a mile in 7:36, tho I also don't think that I have ever tried to. I'm learning that I don't push myself enough as far as speed training: unless the workout calls for speed work, I'm usually content to run at comfortable jog, even for short runs. Speed work is good for me!

I think that I have figured out the deal with my shin pain. I tend to get muscle cramps there on my afternoon runs, and I think that it's related to hydration. I'm usually pretty hydrated in the morning, but I sometimes get lax about drinking water after lunch. probably because I pee alll day.

mood: honestly, i don't remember. I'm sure that i was in a good mood if I can't remember.
health: shin started to hurt a little bit on the 2nd 1600. I really think that I can fix this if I'm more careful about hydration and continue to do shin exercises.
