Extreme weather and natural disasters inflict billions of dollars in losses annually in the United States. Unfortunately, as losses from extreme weather and natural disasters increase, so does insurance fraud.
To meet the growing market demands of weather-related loss analysis, CNC Catastrophe and National Claims is expanding their division of Forensic Meteorological Services. This work involves reconstructing extreme weather events to determine the most likely conditions at specific locations, covering large hail/ strong wind determination, likeliness of freezes or extremely cold weather, and reconstructing the probability of other extreme events, ranging from flooding to tornadoes.
In an effort to expand these services, CNC is interested to hire several qualified professionals. Details about these job openings and required qualifications are listed below.
OPEN POSITION: Forensic meteorologist.
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE: A BS degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, climate science, or a related field. Work experience is preferred but not required. Final semester undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
WORK SETTING: Part-time, remote. In the initial phase, this position will generally require 5-15 hours of part-time work weekly, from a remote setting. The amount of work and job responsibilities could possibly expand as this sector continues to grow.
